Há 30 anos, o mundo ficou estupefacto e profundamente consternado com a notícia do assassinato de John Lennon. Com apenas 40 anos, Lennon deixou um imenso lastro de saudade. De então para cá, o legado de Lennon tem sido criteriosamente preservado quer por Yoko Ono, a sua companheira desde os finais da década de 60, quer pelos restantes músicos dos Beatles - Paul McCartney, George Harrison (entretanto, já falecido) e Ringo Starr.
De Lennon, recordamos o seu activismo anti-guerra e o seu legado musical - uma das suas mais extraordinárias criações é uma música "engagé" cujo poema lhe trouxe alguns dissabores com os fantasmas que povoam alguma da mais empedernida direita americana: « Working Class Hero».
